AirAsia enters cargo flight business for the first time

AirAsia, a major player in Malaysia's low-cost carrier (LCC) group, will enter the cargo flight business for the first time. In addition to leasing a B737-800F cargo plane, Teleport, the logistics arm of the group, will introduce an A320 aircraft with the cabin seats removed for cargo transport, which will be operated throughout Asia from the Teleport hub in Bangkok from the third quarter of 2021. This will strengthen the route network between China, India and Southeast Asia and improve Teleport's connectivity to the long-haul market.
